EasyClaim allows private patients to
pay for medical services by credit
cards, then immediately receive
rebates from Medicare Australia into
the same credit card account. To use
this system, a medical clinic needs
an EFTPOS machine from a bank.
Currently there are no banks that
can supply an EasyClaim EFTPOS
system.This is because the technical
and legal problems are still being
thrashed out between the banks and
Medicare Australia. It is
expected that these problems will be
overcome by November 2007.
An EFTPOS provider, Tyro, can give a
demonstration of their proposed
system, but it's not available for
use in production.
