As of 1 July 2007, MT99 and MT98 will be redundant for the purposes of claiming the VAP. LMOs will use the relevant Medicare Bulk Billing Incentive item to claim the VAP. The VAP will only apply to items listed on the 'LMO Fee Schedule 1 May - 31 October 2007' (and subsequent updates). The items to be claimed are:

• MBS items 10990, 64990 & 74990 for the amount $6.20  (for what was previously claimed as MT99)
• MBS items 10991, 10992, 64991 & 74991 for the amount $9.40  (for what was previously claimed as MT98).
